"Integrating electrical drives into existing vehicle designs is the wrong road to go down and will end in a blind alley", warns Rainer Kurek, car expert and CEO of MVI, referring to the latest developments in the sector. If the automotive industry is serious about fulfilling tough policy requirements and the wishes of its customers, as well as drastically reducing vehicles' fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, its top priority must be to achieve a marked reduction in the high weight of the cars, claims Kurek in his latest book on lightweight construction in the automotive industry.
